Dear Wine Enthusiasts, our upcoming “wine o’clock” #117 promises to be rich with 456 lots of iconic wines, including the following (very tempting…) highlights…

We begin with an almost complete vertical of Château Mouton-Rothschild, covering vintages from 1945 to 2019 (lots 1 to 59).

This will be followed by remarkable selections from both the Southern and Northern Rhône. In the Southern Rhône, look forward to Rayas and Henri Bonneau, while the Northern Rhône is represented this time by Paul Jaboulet and his Hermitage 1961, the Côte-Rôtie from Domaine Clusel-Roch, Domaine Guigal with La Doriane in Condrieu, La Mouline, La Landonne, and La Turque (unfortunately La Reynarde is currently absent, but we hope to include it soon… please contact us).

Cornas enthusiasts will be delighted with a superb selection from Thierry Allemand, and while the opportunity arises, why not compare the 2013 Cornas “Reynard” and “Chaillot”?

Opportunities for tasting comparisons abound in this “wine o’clock” #117 , and the Loire and Burgundy are no exception: a 2015 Poyeux from Clos Rougeard or a 2015 Charpenterie from Domaine du Collier? La prochaine “wine o’clock” #117 s’annonce riche de 456 lots, dont voici quelques highlights :

Commençons avec une verticale quasi complète du domaine Mouton-Rothschild, couvrant les millésimes de 1945 à 2019 (lots 1 à 59).

Suivront de belles sélections de Rhône méridional et septentrional. Clos de la Roche 2005
The opening on the palate is supple and silky, gentle and well-balanced. There’s something of tea in this Clos de la Roche, between dried flowers and finely unfolding tannins reminiscent of incense. This is a serious, dignified, and elegant wine — an almost perfect reflection of an already legendary vintage. While it’s ready to be enjoyed now, it can still slumber a little longer in your cellar, to the delight of both yourself and your guests!


L’attaque en bouche est souple et soyeuse, douce et équilibrée. Il y a quelque chose du thé dans ce Clos de la Roche, entre les fleurs séchées et les tannins qui se déploient tout en finesse rappelant l’encens. Nous sommes face à un vin sérieux, digne et élégant, reflet presque parfait d’un millésime déjà légendaire. S’il est prêt à être savouré, il peut encore sommeiller un peu dans votre cave pour votre plus grand plaisir et celui de vos convives !

There is no doubt that this is the work of a great winemaker: the attack is clean and precise, marked by yellow fruits and wet stones. On the palate, its salinity evokes sea spray, warm stones, or shellfish... Altogether, it offers a beautiful expression of terroir — a fluid, vibrant, and creamy-textured wine with remarkable length.


Sans nul doute il s’agit là d’un champagne de grand vigneron : L’attaque est franche et ciselée, sur les fruits jaunes et les pierres mouillées. A la dégustation sa salinité évoque les embruns marins, les pierres chaudes ou les coquillages... L’ensemble produit une très belle expression de terroir, un jus bien délié à la texture vibrante et crémeuse d’une longueur remarquable.

This V.O. with its beautiful golden colour, offers a lovely aromatic complexity with subtle notes of citrus, spices, and hazelnuts. A vibrant acidity, with a well-controlled oxidative edge, wraps around a fairly dense juice with a rich, energetic texture. Good ageing potential.


Ce V.O. à la superbe robe dorée nous offre belle complexité aromatique aux subtiles notes d’agrumes, d’épices et de noisettes. Une belle acidité à la pointe oxydative bien maîtrisée vient enrober un jus assez dense, d’une texture riche et énergique. Bon potentiel de vieillissement.

Our Geneva 9th October wine o'clock is the continuation of the magnificent single-owner collection of Bordeaux composing the "A Beautiful Day" auction (Oct. 8th).

Champagne is THE international symbol of celebration! Amongst the jewels of Champagne, Krug is without any doubt one of the most emblematic signature of the region.

Founded in 1743 by Johann-Joseph Krug, the Krug tradition has been passed down from father to son without interruption for six generations. Since 1843 the savoir-faire and the philosophy has been transmitted from one experienced member of the family to the next generation. Despite the joining together with LVMH group in January 1999, the heritage endures along with the quest for perfection, the Krug family still being actively involved and Olivier Krug guarantor of the family’s legacy.

Krug owns 20 hectares of vines in Aÿ, Le Mesnil, and Trépail. They source the rest of their grapes from long-term contract growers. Aÿ supplies the Pinot Noir which goes into the non-vintage Rosé, and Le Mesnil produces the Chardonnay which makes up the Clos du Mesnil Blanc de Blancs vintage. Alone amongst the great champagne houses, Krug still ferments all its wines in oak and every Krug champagne is aged for upwards of six years, and in some cases much longer, so that they have the time needed to reach maturity. The Krug style is one of great complexity, richness and finesse, achieved through this fermentation in wood and a mastery of blending.

The house line-up consists of six exclusively prestige Cuvée champagnes, each sublime in its own way:  Krug Grande Cuvée, Krug Rosé, Krug Vintage, Krug Collection, Krug Clos du Mesnil and Krug Clos d’Ambonnay.

Yet in spite of the changes in ownership, Krug has continued to preserve its ideals and traditions of quality without interference or compromise. And this is probably one reason which explains why Krug is at the top of any serious Champagne collector’s dream list. “Creating only prestige Champagnes since 1843” – this is Krug’s promise and the resulting sought-after bottles well embodies the ultimate status for many champagne enthusiasts  all around the globe.

Thus Baghera/wines’  “Mr. Bordsky”  Wine o’clock is the perfect opportunity to succumb to the eternal pleasures of Champagne Krug. The auction offers a lovely selection of Krug Cuvées from Krug Collection 1985, to Krug Grande Cuvée (bottles or jeroboam) or Krug Brut Rosé
