This spring online auction #96 offers you the possibility to bid on great wines from Bordeaux with perfect provenance and conservation, and no reserve price! Let's take this opportunity to revise our classics…

The Bordeaux “en primeur” system is a unique marketing method that allows buyers to purchase wine before it is even bottled. Each spring, châteaux offer tastings of the latest vintage still in the aging process. This pivotal moment in the Bordeaux calendar allows négociants, clients, critics, and collectors from around the world to discover the wines in advance.

After evaluation and scoring, the wines are sold “en primeur”, giving buyers the opportunity to reserve their bottles at a price generally lower than what they would pay once the wine is bottled. This system enables estates to manage the sale of their stock before the production process is complete. The négociants of the Bordeaux marketplace secure their allocations and can also begin reselling to their clients. After 18 to 24 months of aging, the wines purchased “en primeur” are delivered to their buyers.

Our Geneva 9th October wine o'clock is the continuation of the magnificent single-owner collection of Bordeaux composing the "A Beautiful Day" auction (Oct. 8th).

With more great mature wines to be tasted, and more exciting formats to be discovered from the finest Bordeaux appellations, this Part II features Bordeaux icons such as Pichon 1989 & 2000, Pichon Comtesse 1982, Margaux 1986, Léoville Barton 1982, Cos 1989, Haut Brion (& Haut Brion blanc) 1988, 1989, 1990, imperial of Pavie 1989, Conseillante 1989 & 1990, Certan de May from 1982 to 1997, Le Gay & Latour à Pomerol 1989 & 1990, Yquem, Climens, Guiraud, Rieussec, Tour Blanche, Filhot... and many more Sauternes from 1947 to 2007.

This Part II collection is also composed of mature white Burgundy wines (Marquis de Laguiche....), Loire valley wines (Mellot, Dagueneau...), Champagne (Dom Pérignon, Cristal, Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Françaises...), Ports and Whiskies.

The finest Bordeaux’s Châteaux

It is Baghera/wines’ pleasure to introduce you to “ Origins ”, the celebrated wine auction to be offered on Sunday, March 1st, 2020,  at Hotel Beau-Rivage in Geneva.

The collector, the wine connoisseur who has opened us his wine treasure trove, has spent thirty years of meticulous selectivity and study, embracing a world-view and developing the evolved refinement of the oenophile’s palette, including the finest Bordeaux’s Châteaux.

To name but a few, Lafite-Rothschild, Latour, Margaux, Mouton-Rothschild, Haut-Brion, Cheval Blanc … are some of the Bordeaux gems composing this rare collection. Each imperial, jeroboam, double-magnum, magnum or bottle is documented – with its glittering provenance and unassailable corroboration –  registered over the years with purchase invoices and transport statements.

Undisturbed since their purchase, the wines have been kept in excellent temperature and hygrometry controlled cellarage at the Geneva FreePort for the past three decades
